Tomorrow, Tuesday is an im
portant day for Tryon and its
future. The voters will be called
on to vote for or against the ex
tension of our water resources.
Tryon has never defaulted in its
fcfcnds even during the depressipn.
|^e debt is reduced to such an
extent-that it is safe to borrow
more money at half the rate of
interest the other bond issue re
quired and let future revenue
from water consumers pay for
the new debt. Our town officials
have uninanimously recommended
it to the voters. It is up to us to
give approval if we want the
community to grow. Landrum vot
ed for bonds last week in order to
increase its water supply. Ashe
ville is spending over two million
dollars to increase its water re
sources. This is one problem the
Town Commissioners can’t act on.

EPISCOPAL MEETING
AT SALUDA CHURCH
A district meeting of the Womens
Auxiliary of the Diocese of West
ern North Carolina will be held
Tuesday, April 29th at the Saluda
Church of the Transfiguration.
The Rev. Carey-Elwes is the
priest in charge.
The meeting will open at 10 a.
m. for meditation with Bishop M.
George Henry, D. D., in charge.
A program and business session
will follow.
Lunch will be served at Saluda
Inn.
The Auxiliary of the Church of
th^ Holy Cross in Tryon is also
a member of this Diocese.
