C., sister of Mrs. J. S. Kell of Tryon, was in auto ac cident Sunday between Greenville and Clinton, S. C. Both of her legs were broken. She was taken to Greenville General Hospital. The Tryon Country Club is planning a tournament and picnic Saturday. There will be lots of prizes says Jim Ferguson, tourn ament chairman. . . Carroll Brady, student at Univei'sity of N. C., ’Chapel Hill, was home for the weekend. MRS. SAL LIE PREWETTE Mrs. Sallie Ballew Prewette, 76, widow of A. D. Prewette, died at her home on Landrum Route 2 Saturday night at 10:50 after an illness of nine weeks. Mrs. Prewette was born and reared in the Oak Grove section. ►surviving are: two sons, Tandy of Tryon and Cecil of Landrum; four daughters, Mrs. Essie Ballew of Tryon, Mrs. Bertha Solesbee, Mrs. Pearl Pierce and Mrs. Anna Bell Campbell, all of Landrum; three brothers, W. A. and H. E. Ballew of Inman and T. B. Ballew' of Campobello; and two sisters, Mrs.; Emmie Jackson and Mrs. Fannie Prewette. Funeral services will be con ducted Monday at 3 p. m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church by the Revs. Curtis McCarley, Paul Tankersley and Harold Perry. These grandsons will be pall bearers: Willie Campbell, Ray and Bill Pierce, Jimmy Ballew, Allen and Nathaniel Prewette. Girl Scout Awards At Lake Lanier Today The Tryon Girl Scout Court of Awards will be held this afternoon at 3:30 at the Girl Scout Day Camp on Lake Lanier. Public Invited.
