Baby Hospital At Saluda
Opens For Summer June 2
Spartanburg Baby Hospital at
Saluda, N. C. will open for its
39th season June 2.
Dr. Sam Elmore of Spartanburg
will be physican in charge and Dr.
Chai-les F. Saymour of the Medi
cal School of Duke University will
be resident physician. Dr. Roy J.
Ellison of the South Carolina Med
ical College will be interne.
The superintendent will be Mrs.
Ruth S. McLean, of the General
Hospital nursing staff. Others on
the staff will be Mrs. Edna Burnett
of Spartanburg, dietitian, Mrs.
Fannie Mayer, secretary, and Mrs.
Edith Harbor and Miss Jessie
Wood, nurses.
The executive committee, head
ed by President Charles D. Green,
met May 15 to plan final details
of this summer’s operation. Repair
and cleaning of buildings has been
completed and a fire escape has
been installed for. the second floor.
Members of the executive com
mittee are: Nelson Jackson of Try
on, T. E. Elmore of Spindale,
Mrs. John Renfro of Spartanburg,
and Edward Marshall, vice-presi
dent.
The hospital is operated each
summer for the treatment of
babies. No fees are charged where
parents are unable to pay. —Spart

Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Jackson
have returned from a business
trip to the North. While in New
York. Mr. Jackson attended a
meeting of the National Council
of the Boy Scouts of America.
TTis sister, Mrs. E. M. Walker of
Oramercy Park, accompanied them
to Tryon for a visit with her
mother, Mrs. J. N. Jackson.
