Fire Destroys House Here
Fire of unknown origin, com
pletely destroyed the house occu
pied by Brooks Campbell and fam
ily on Eskdale farm around noon
Sunday.
The house was owned by the
| .lack Kimberly farm, but the
Campbell family lost all their
household effects, clothing and the
children’s toys. Lee Cowan is act
I ing as a committee to help get
j good neighbors everywhere to as
[ sist in replacing the personal
losses.
SCHMID—JONES
An international ronmance de
veloped in Tryon within the past
few weeks which resulted in the
marriage of Mrs. Katharine Allein
Brooks Jones, widow of Thomas
Hoyt Jones of Cleveland, Ohio, and
Mi1. Albert William Schmid of
Paris, France.
The wedding took place on Sat
urday morning, June 7th, at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Ses
! sions in Spartanburg where the
ceremony was performed by Judge
William Davenport in the presence
j of a number of close relatives and
! friends who came by plane from
I various parts of the country for
the event.
Mrs. Russell Bunvell of Clevo
land was matron of honor. Mr.
Burwell, who is head of the Brush
Development To., was also present
as well as Mrs. Edgar Reed of
Pittsburgh and her daughter. Mrs.
William Ludwig, and Mrs. Brown
