C. _Continued on Back Page_ Mill Spring Man, 39, Drowns As Boat Capsizes; Inquest Set Walter S. Wagner, 39, of the Mill Spring section was drowned Satur day night in Lake Adger when the boat from which he was fishing capsized. Roy Smith and Charles (Buck) Thompson, fishing companions of Mr. Wagner, swam to safety. A speeding boat swerved near Mr. Wagner’s craft and the waves caused it to overturn, Polk County Sheriff Loyd B. Panther said. The accident occurred shortly after 8 p. m. The body was recovered about 1:50 a. m. Sunday in about 16 feet of water. Polk County Coroner Otis Dal ton set an inquest for Friday at 8:30 p. m. at the County Court house in Columbus. A coroner’s jury viewed the body Sunday. Surviving are: his wife, Mrs. Adell Shehan Wagner; three daughters, Mrs. Juanita Davis of Tryon Route 1, and Misses Mar lene and Ellen Wagner of the home; three sons, Pvt. Woodrow of Fort Jackson, Marvin and Jack of the home; four brothers, Lee and Ed of Tryon R-l, Ross of Lake Lure R-l and John of Chesnee R-3; five sisters, Mrs. John Ford of Mill Spring, Mrs. Arthur Ra burn of Landrum R-l, Mrs. .Jack Hamilton of Tryon R-l, Mrs. Glenn Flynn of I^andrum R-l and Mrs. Raymond Turner of Lyman; and his father, J. S. of Florida. Funeral services Monday at 4 p. m. at Peniel Baptist Church by the Revs. Furman Jackson and B. W. Reid. Pallbearers: Eugene Mills, Dew ey and Daniel Shehan, Charles Wagner, Hoyt Raburn and Bobby Hamilton.
