ing sites on the big plateau ridge
between Tryon peak and Skvuka,
claimed by many to be one of the
most beautiful spots in this en
tire region. A road has been built I
to tne property and surveyors are
at work mapping out tracts of
land for home builders. A prize
is to be offered the person giving
the most suitable name for the
new development. Everybody is in
vited to visit the ridge and then j
give suggestions for a. name to Mr. ]

j A round-table discussion was
held at the Kiwanis Club meet
ing Tuesday at Oak Hall. Mem
bers of the club participated in
discussing various community pro
jects and problems. Guests were
Joe Gilmore, Atlanta, Ga.; Stowell
Wasson, Riverside, 111.; Joe K.
Davis, Columbus; Dr. Julius W.
Welborn Jr., Tryon. Seth Vinlng
Jr., was in charge of the program.
Landrum’s Water System
Damaged; Reward Offered
M^yor Wade Staggs Tuesday an
nounced that the Town of Landrum
is offering $50 reward in connec
tion with the damaging of the
water works clorinator and other
property on July 6th.
Mayor Staggs said that the $50
would be paid to “anyone giving
any information that will lead to
the arrest and conviction of the
party or parties” that damaged
the system.—Spartanburg Herald.
