About 25 research workers of the Deering-Milliken Co., of which Hatch Mill is a unit, will come up from Pendleton, S. C., for a week-end outing in Tryon at Oak Hall, Country Club, Har mon Field, etc. . . . Thursday night the losers in a contest of the Rutherfordton Kiwanis Club en tertained the winners at a steak ter at Oak Hall. About 84 present. REMEMBER THE CKOUT Sunday morning from 6 to 9 o’clock. All electricity will be cut off in Tryon, while wires are being changed on the main line feeding the city. Make your coffee late Saturday night and put in thermos bottle if you must have hot coffee before 9 o’clock. Kiwams District Governor Joe Tally and Mrs. Tally of Fayette ville will he guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carroll P. Rogers the night cf the celebration of the 25th anni versary of the Tryon club at Oak Hall, Tuesday, October 21st. . . . Now is the time to see the beauty of the mountains from Skyland drive. Take 108 to Rutherfordton, -Continued On-Back Pape Eskdale Cows Win At Fair Eskdale Farm of Tryon won first place at the Piedmont Inter state Fair at Spartanburg this week wfcen Eskdale Noah’s Frances won the championship in Guernsey Junior class and also first place in the Stenior class. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Kimberly are breeders and owners of the champion cow. Esk dale also won first place in the Senior class for bulls with Esk dale’s Baron Cavalero; second place in Milking in the two-year old class with Eskdale’s Noah Buttercup. These cattle were fit ted and shown by Wayne Bryson and Aubrey Campbell, the latter winning first place in the Junior Showmanship class and a free trip to Kansas City. Mo. Youth Program Sunday At Episcopal Church Youth Sunday will be observed at the Church of the Holy Cross Sunday morning at the 11 o’clock service. The young people will be in charge of the entire service as follows: Lay readers: Charles Willard, Scott Shaffer, Natika Waterman, Isa Brannon. Mary McGavern, Jimmy Ferguson; Crucifer: David Preston: Acolytes: Joe Crawford, George Holmes, George Dusenbury; ushers: Peter Buchly, Richard Mc Gavern, Ross Klatte, Chris Bartol; speakers: Julia Calhoun, Johnny Woody, Pam Bartol, Alfred Page, Lucy Klatte, Pennv Boone, Mary Ella Spivey. Coffee hour will follow service. Polk County Boy Scout Court of Honor Monday night at 7:45. at Tryon school. Public invited. The Scouter supper will be held at 6:30.
