ROSS * a William Krider Ross, 55, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morn ing at 9:30 at his home after a few days illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p. m., at Pacolet Baptst Church, Lynn, with the Rev. Malcolm J. 'Ross, the Rev. N. B. Phillips and the Rev. Ralph Banning, former pastors, officiat ing. Burial in Tryon cemetery in charge of McFarland Funeral Home. The body will be placed at the residence at 2:30 p. m., Mon day until hour of service. Pallbearers: Clarence Newman, Buddy Lockhart, M. P. Andrews, Edgar Covil, Dock Raines, and C. O. Story. Honorary pallbearers: C. D. Stevens, W. Y. Wilkins Sr., John W. Cowan, R. C. Burnett, Claude Scoggins, Robert S. McFarland. Mr.- Ross was a prominent citi zen of the county, the only son of the late C. S. (Vet) Ross and Emmie Durham Ross. He was a native of Greenville County, but had spent most of his life in the Tryon area and was with the Try on Builders Supply Co., for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Hardin Ross; two sons, Ronald of the home, and Donald of the U. S. Navy; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Ross Lindsey of Tryon: step-mother, Mrs. Mat tie L. Ross of Tryon: niece and nephew, Judy and Jackie Ross of the home. Today at “Dogwood in the Hunt ing Country” the Stars and Stripes are flying in thankful observance of General Eisenhower’s safe re turn from his dangerous trip to Korea. -
