He said, “In the battle for Truth, you and I have a defi nite part to play through the Crusade for Freedom.” An appeal was issued through The Bulletin for funds with which to carry on the Crusade for Freedom. Have you answered the appeal? The quota for the whole county is only $130, just a few cents for each person. Maybe you think the General is ,,-all wet. Governor Stevenson said, MThe unique spirit of the Crusade Wor Freedom is its private and voluntary character.” He knows how distasteful it is to be made to do things by force. L. H. SHEHAN L. H. Shehan, 81, of Colum bus, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, at 10:45 a. m., at St. Luke’s Hos pital in Tryoo. Funeral services were held Saturday at Jackson Grove Methodist Church with the Rev. A. M. Jones and the Rev. LeRoy D. Leppard, officiating. Mr. Shehan is survived by his wife, the former Miss Dora Wilson; and two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Wal drop of Duncan, S. C., and Mrs. Carrie Edwards of Columbus. Interments was in Jackson Grove cemetery. HOSPITAL NEWS New patients at St. Luke’s Hos pital include twin boys born to Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Wallace of Tryon Route One on Dec. 26th, one at 4:50 vp. m., and the other at 5:10. Other patients are Jaxon Knox of Tryon; Mrs. E. B. Olson, John Owens, Tryon R-l; Mrs. Dixie Thompson, Saluda; Mrs. Theodore Wilson, Mrs. George Carson, Landrum. Patients discharged include Mrs. John N. Williams, Mrs. James Plumley, Mrs. William Brock, Mrs. Annie Mae Walker, Mrs. Pelzy Laughter and son; Mrs. J. D. Wilkerson and son.
