Newhall was presented the Eagle Scout Award, the highest Boy Scout rank, Sunday morning at the Tryon First Baptist Church, sponsor of Troop No. 3 of which Ted was a member. County District Chairman R. C. Burnett gave the award to the Scout’s mother who pinned it on her son as a recognition of the part the mother plays in the ad vancement of a Scout. Then Eagle Scout Newhall pinned a miniature eagle pin on his mother. R. B. Scruggs of the Church Committee presented to Scoutmast er Harold Taylor the new charter for troop No. 3 for the coming year.
