Eagle Scout Ted Newhall
Ted Newhall, 14 year old son
of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Newhall
was presented the Eagle Scout
Award, the highest Boy Scout
rank, Sunday morning at the Tryon
First Baptist Church, sponsor of
Troop No. 3 of which Ted was a
member.
County District Chairman R. C.
Burnett gave the award to the
Scout’s mother who pinned it on
her son as a recognition of the
part the mother plays in the ad
vancement of a Scout. Then Eagle
Scout Newhall pinned a miniature
eagle pin on his mother.
R. B. Scruggs of the Church
Committee presented to Scoutmast
er Harold Taylor the new charter
for troop No. 3 for the coming
year.
