The weather is bad over much of the nation. Snow and ice storms as far south as Asheville and At lanta; cold, rain and floods. Flori da was hit by storm that uprooted trees and blew over trailers and damaged stores. New England un der heavy blanket of snow. Over 50,000 people in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut without electric _ power. In Tryon area heavy winds blew down' some trees and in a few places power lines j|t;d telephone lines were down. Sjfc/dams-Millis plant closed Mon day morning while power lines were being restored. A section of the wall of the Drive-In Theatre at Lake Lanier fell in, but no other serious damage had been re ported at press time. . . . This is a busy week in Tryon with num erous meetings.
