General Motors does a lot of business for the gov ernment and it is against the law for such a person to be a cabinet member. No one doubts his honesty or ability. Eisenhower has the blessings of the nation. Former President Truman was welcomed home by 10,000 neighbors. America is getting ready to go forward. . . The N. C. We know we will leave out some thintrs because it is almost im possible to remember everything, but when it comes out and you _Continued On Back Page_ Enoch Prather New President Of Tryon Country Club The annual meeting of the Try on Country Club was held Tues day night at the club house fol lowing a supper put on by the Women’s Golf Association, headed by Miss Elena Garcia. Reports were heard from all the committees which showed an in crease in membership, an enlarge ment of the club property by the purchase of additional land near the club house, improvement of the club grounds, fairways, greens, swimming pool activities, tourna ments, parties at the club house, redfcoration of the club house by the Women’s Association, reduction of the club debt and the wiping off the mortgage, new septic tank, improvement of machinery and other equipment: increased use of the club’s facilities including 1,100 people in the swimming pool and three classes in swimming for Roy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Red Cross.
