North Carolina is very much out of line with South Caro line and Virginia and the state is losing some industries on that account. j bridge results The results of the Duplicate Bridge Tournament held Friday at Oak Hall hotel are as follows: I\ orth-South—1st, Mrs. Jack Craig and Jules Feder; 2nd, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Koegle; 3rd, Mrs. S. Czetwertynski and Mrs. E. W Tracy. Fast-West—1st, Miss Jane Brown and Jack Craig; 2nd, Mrs~ Donald French and Mrs. D. C. Milner; 3rd, Mrs. Seth M. Vining and Seth Vining Jr. The Tournament this Friday will be a master point tournament. Mill Spring And Saluda Win Tournament Games The Mill Spring girls and the Saluda boys won the opening games of the Polk County Basket ball Tournament Saturdav at Co lumbus. The smooth working* Mill Spring girls led by Marie Harris defeated Saluda 57 to 46. Lucille Stevenson of Saluda was outstand ing as she sparked the losers with 30 points. The Saluda boys swamped Tryon 69 to 47 as the Saluda team con trolled both back boards and out classed the Tryon five. The Saluda attack was led by A. Pace. John son and Brown and they racked up 40 points in an outstanding first half. Another game between Mill Spriny and Green C^eek boys was cancelled and will be played at a later date. (First Game).
