Carroll G. Bennett, co-chairmen
of the Any and All Dog Show to
be held Saturday, Feb. 28th, at
Harmon Field, have announced
that the show will start with a
grand march of all dogs regardless
of ancestry. They invite everyone
to enter their dogs in this class as
well as the other classes. They
say the dog of 57 varieties has as
good a change in this class as
the one with the best pedigree.
Reid Wilson, Children’s Program
director of WWNC, Asheville, who
has been an official at the show
for several years, will be the
master of ceremon'es this year.
Ben Grier of Radio Station WORD,
Spartanburg, will be the judge.
The co-chairmen promise a good
time for young and old. The event
is sponsored by the Tryon Riding
& Hunt Club, and is the first of
a series of sporting events sched
uled for this spring.

The Polk County Round-Robin
Basketball Tournament ended Sat
urday night in the Columbus
gymnasium with the Green Creek
girls and the Saluda boys being
] crowned champions. The runner-up
j spots went to the Tryon girls and

breezed to a 55-37 win over Green
Creek with Johnson and Pace
leading the way with 20 and 19.
Eaton led the Green Creek five
with 24 points.
