The big Riding activity of the
week is the Hunter Trials on Sat
urday. And there is a big style
show Wednesday night at Tryon
S-chool auditorium. And an Azalea
Camellia sale on the grounds of
the Episcopal Church Wednesday
beginning at 10 a. m. We’ll have
to make a calendar of events for
this week. It’s a busy one. “Kim”,
the purebred Pekingese dog, owned
by Mrs. Ralph Gardner of Tryon
won second place in the Spartan
burg Dog Show Saturday. Most
of the world news is about Stalin
and the effect of his death on the
future of the world. Many people
are guessing. Allied nations getting
prepared for the worst.
The State Highway and Town
of Tryon are widening Trad^e
street from the Rock Grill to the
ABC store. This will increase
parking space in that area as well
as make it safer for traffic in
general. . . Congratulations to
Bob Johnson of Saluda who was
selected by officials of the District
4 Basketball tournament as one
of 10 for the honor squad.

ald have announced the marriage
of their daughter, Virginia, to
Francis Beaven Ennis, Lieutenant,
Army of the United States, on
Saturday, the seventh of March,
nineteen hundred and fifty-three,
Richmond, Virginia.
Lieut, and Mrs. Ennis are
making their home at Perrin, Va.
