COLUMBUS NEWS NOTES

Mrs. E. H. Gibbs returned home
last week after spending several
weeks with her daughter, Mrs.
Robert Edney, and family at Wil
mington.
The Home Demonstration Club
met on Monday night at the home
of Mrs. O. C. Feagan. The retir
ing county agent, Mrs. Carolyn
F. Brady, was in charge of the
program which was on “Better
Meals for Your Money”. Mrs.
Frank Burgess won the door prize.
The president, Mrs. H. L. Arledge,
presided at the meeting. Refresh
ments of cookies and Russian tea
were served to the 19 present.
Every lady in the community
who is interested in better homes,
better foods and clothing, better
flower and vegetable gardens, is
invited to join.
The Intermediate Sunday school
and B. T. U. classes of the Bap
tist Church were entertained at a
party on Tuesday night at the
W. 0. W. hall by their teachers,
Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Christopher and
Gray Feagan. After games, the
24 present enjoyed hamburgers
and Cokes.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gibson
and daughter, Mary Alice of
Charlotte were week-end guests of
Mr. Gibson’s parents, Mr. and
Mi’s. John Gibson.
