TO PRESERVE POETRY
Prof. Raymond Jenkins, dean of
the faculty of Catawba College,
Salisbury, N. C., has been unani
mously elected as Curator of the
Poetry Council of North Carolina.
He will have charge of collecting,
filing, and preserving any kind
of material related to poetry,
which he feels will be valuable, and
will contribute to the cultural
growth and inspiration of our
people.
President Keppel of Catawba
College has consented to the use
of their library and vault to store
and preserve books, holographic
manuscripts, and any other valu
able records and memorabilia of
noets of North Carolina, which
Dean Jenkins may select for pres
ervation.
On behalf of Dean Jenkins, who
brings great knowledge and un
derstanding to this task the Poetry
Council of North Carolina requests
the hearty cooperation of all poets
and poetry lovers in finding and
forwarding to Dean Jenkins ma
terial and information which mav
be thought valuable. This arrange
ment makes nossible for the first
time in this State the development
of a Museum of Poetry. We hope
all poets will help as they can
with this pioneering effort.—Cont.
