Funeral services for John R.
Gurley, brother of Mrs. J. R. Moore,
were held Monday in San Francis
co, Calif. Buria' was in National
Cemetery.
Mr. Gurley was retired from
the Navy, having served in World
Wars I and II, and had made his
home in San Francisco since his
retirement.

Col. J. O. Safford has returned
from Augusta, Ga., where he was
a steward at the First Annual
Junior Horse Show held under the
auspices of the American Horse
ShowAssociation, Inc., at Augusta,
on Saturday. Col. Safford said
some of the winners at Augusta
plan to enter the Tryon Show in
April since it has also joined the
National Association. Children 14
to 18 are eligible for the Junior
Show classes.
