Recipe For Laughter
“Father Was A Housewife”. Tom
Butler (Wallace Lankford) keeps
house for his wife and their 16
year-old twins. He is quite satisfied
with the housekeeping job along
with his song writing, but his son,
Doug (Gay Corpening) is ashamed
of the fact that his father is a
housewife. There are times, too,
when even his faithful, old batter
ed piano can’t lift him from the
doldrums. Mother (Betty Bruce),
a successful doctor, tries to prove
“a woman’s place is in the home.”
She moves her office into the fam
ily living room. Results: Woeful
and ludicrous complications, which
the audience will enjoy c^P^pril
10th when Tryon Seniors present
their play.—School News.
A 38 ACRE WOODLAND of
magnificent virgin trees—giants
of hemlock, spruce, beech and
many other deciduous trees. A
joyful mountain steam cascading
through a glen which narrows
enough at one place to build a
dam to make a private lake or
pool. Terraced gardens developed
over the years—flowering shrubs,
native red bud and dog wood in
profusion. All this makes a setting
for a very comfortable home of
three bed rooms, 2 baths, living
room with fireplace, kitchen having
built in cabinets. Basement has
laundry, garage, and an oil furn
ace. A stone terrace, work shop
and studio combine to make this
one of the most attractive proper
ties available. RICHARDSON &
