Mrs. Carrie Edwards and Mrs.
Robert Bell were Monday quests
of Mrs. Edwards’ sister, Mrs. R.
L. Waldrop, at Welford, S. C.
Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Burgess
were week-end guests of Mrs. Bur
gess’ mother, Mrs. J. A. Monroe,
at High Point.
Airman 1 jc Charles Jordan ar
rived home Wednesday. He has
been stationed with the Transport
Service of U. S. Air Force at
Honolulu for the last 18 months.
The P. H. F. of the Columbus
Presbyterian Church met on Sat
urday night at the home of Mrs.
C. O. Jordan. During business,
officers for the following year were
elected: President, Betty Lawter,
vice president, Hazel Edwards;
secretary, Peggy Moore; secretary,
David Ashley. Mrs. Jordan served
refreshments.
Mrs. Fred Wilds was delightfully
entertained at a surprise birth
day party on March 12th, at her
home on Main Street. The pai i.y
was given by her children, Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Buchner, Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Smith, Miss Shirley
Wilds, Ralph Case, all of Brevard,
Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Byrd and
daughter of Asheville, and Mr.
and Mrs. R. S. Ramsey. Refresh
ments of cake and coffee were
served.

of Tryon R-l, announce the birth
of a daughter, Ronda Carol, on
March 12th, at St. Luke’s Hos
pital, Tryon. Mrs. McCarty yas

of Columbus.
