S. imports last year, compared with 48 per cent in 1951. j Trvon Firemen Honored Three members of the Tryon Volunteer Fire Department have received gold lapel buttons from ■the North Carolina State Fire men’s Association in recognition of their 25 years volunteer service to the community of Tryon. They are vvayne w. breasman, Fb Fisher and Jack Ford. The buttons have a white border with the words North Carolina State Firemen’s Association and 25 years on it. In the center in gold is the official firemens’ emb lem surrounded by a red back ground divided by cross marks similar to an “X”; on the left of the “X” is the letter “F” and on the right the letter “D’ for Fire Department. These emblems recognize more than faithfulness in attendance for more than a quarter of a centurv. They recognize loyal tv to a noble cause—the saving of life and pron ertv of all the people of their com munitv and of neighboring com munities in emergencies.
