S^LJDA BOOK CLUB ^members of the Saluda Book Club entertained their husbands and friends with a dinner at Sa luda Inn on March 20th. Mrs. Ralph Ramsey, district president of the Federation of Women’s Clubs, and Ralph Ramsey, Bre vard attorney, were guest speakers. The tables were appointed with spring flowers and candles. A five course turkey dinner was served. Twenty-six club members and guests attended. Miss Lilian Harris and Miss Sally Sitterly of Chicago are oc cupying the Tallman guest house on Pinecrest Lane. Jack Campbell of Gowansville section is being held in Green ville County jail pending an in vestigation into the shooting of his wife with a .45 calibre pistol Monday afternoon. Officers state that Mrs. Campbell was shot in the stomach when she stepped between her husband and a visitor whom her husband threatened to shoot. All were at the home of Fred Campbell. Mrs. Campbell was re ported in a serious condition at Spartanburg General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Brock and son, Bill, have returned from Neenah, Wis., where they took Mrs. Brock’s mother, Mrs. E. L. Lashua, who had been visiting the Brocks and Lee Cowan families.
