LE^j|pR FROM KOREA Suwan, Korea, Dear Home Friendly Club: Well, I’m still here but it looks like we will be finished in a week or so. I received 2 of your letters yesterday with about 20 others. It was about time for-I had begun to believe that I wasn’t to receive any. Since I wrote to you last we have had a little excitement here. I guess you’ve heard about Ted Williams getting his aircraft torn up. Well, I saw him bringing in his plane with it burning up. He sure was lucky. I got a kick out of the Marines when they came up to salvage his plane. After he left from looking over his plane the next day one Marine said: “If he plays ball like he flies, I would hate to see him play (on any team opposing me)”. Besides that we have repaired two F86’s while waiting for parts for one of the other B29’s. Now we have all parts and are waiting round to this air craft back in action. Right now everybody who was here with us has gone back to Japan except me and another man. Well, I will close for now say ing, thanks a lot for the news and the Valentine. Keep up the good work.
