Lc^r* Red ' Cross officials were a MS* disappointed that only 100 pints of blood were donated to the Red Cross Blood Bank last week in Polk County. The same week at Hendersonville 129 pints were donated and Henderson Coun ty has more than twice the popu lation of Polk County. Lieut, (j.g.) Jack Maxwell, U. S. Navy Submarine Cubera, visit ed his mother, Mrs. L. W. Ander son and Mr. Anderson in Tryon last week-end while enroute to Montgomery, Ala. He will be sep arated from the Navy, after which, he will return to his wife and baby son, Sandy, at Norfolk, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin G. Robert son of Springfield, O., have ar rived at their new Tryon home on Carolina Drive in Gillette Woods.
