Columbus Election May 5th
Mrs. J. C. Gibson, Columbus
Town Clerk stated Monday that
Mrs. Willie Walker has been ap
pointed registrar for the Town
Election for a mayor and three
councilmen on May 5th. J. T. Or
mand and Calvin Ramsey are the
judges.
The registration books will be
open each Saturday in April and
the election will be held at the
town office.
Just now is a proper time to see
Spring step up the mountains, by
driving up to Tryon and then up
the Pacolet Valley toward Saluda.
There is Spring in the valley and
the sheltered spots on the moun
tains, and in the coves of the Ther
mal Belt, are showing redbuds on
the maples and green in the
poplars.
On top of the mountains the
trees are still bare, but in a little
while there will be laurel in bloom
and the rhododendron will be in
flower. If you want to follow Spring
