IINDSEY SCOGGINS
Lindsey Scoggins, 55, a native of
Tryon and brother of Claude Scog
gins of Tryon, died Monday night
at his home in Union, S. C., fol
lowing a heart attack. He had been
in ill health for several months.
He was a former health officer of
Union. *
Funeral arrangements are in
complete.
Mr. Scoggins, who moved from
Tryon in 1922, is survived by his
wife and four children; one sis
ter, Mrs. Carletha Johnson of
Tigerville and three brothers,
Nathan Scoggins of Portsmouth.

Gallimore Youth President
At the Spring Rally of the Pres
byterian Youny People of Kings
Mountain Presbytery, which met
Sundav afternoon at Kings Moun
tain, Harold Gallimore of Trvon
was elected president of the Wes
tern District, which comprises the
youny people of all Presbyterian
churches from Tryon east to
Shelby.
Grain supplies in the four prin
cipal exporting countries, the
United States, Canada, Argentina
and Australia, on January 1, 1953,
exceeded those of the same period
last year by 1G per cent.
