. . . Many friends in Tryon were
shocked Tuesday afternoon to learn
of the sudden death of Mrs. Ed
mund M. Wylie. As the wife of a
minister, and his able helpmate
during the time Dr. Wylie was
pastor ad interim of the Congre
gational Church here, she endear
ed herself to many by her genuine
neighborliness and interest in the
welfare of others. As homemaker
and church worker she was tops
but she did not stop there. She
was interested in the community
as a whole and was a leader in
the Lanier Club and Garden .Club
and in the program for beauti
fying Tryon. And the love of many
goes out to the bereaved family.
There are about 35,000 plants
in the U. S. processing milk, but
ter, cheese, ice cream and other
dairy products.
MRS. EDMUND M. WYLIE
Mrs. Caroline Rindge Wylie, wife
of the Rev. Dr. Edmund M. Wylie,
died suddenly Tuesday afternoon
at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Services will be held at the fam
ily residence on Thursday, time
to be determined later.
As the casket will remain at the
McFarland Funeral Home and will
not be open, the family requests
flowers be omitted.
Resides her husband she is sur
vived by her mother, Mrs. Lilian
Booth of Tryon; her sister, Miss
Helene Booth of New York City;
and her son, Fred H. Rindge of
LeRoy, N'. Y.
Mrs. Wylie was a leader in civic
affairs of the community especially
the church, Lanier Club and the
Garden Club.

son have been discharged from St.

Cairns Handicap Trojphy this week.
