A ndrews, Shannon Meriwether and Fred Smith. JESSE L. RHODES BOUND OVER TO GRAND JURY A preliminary hearing was held Friday afternoon before Magistrate T. A. Gilliam at the Court House in Columbus for Jesse L. Rhodes charged with assault with a deadly weapon on his wife, Mrs. Stella Streadwick Rhodes. After hearing the evidence presented the magis trate bound the defendant over to the grand jury for action in August. At the hearing Mrs. Rhodes stat ed that she had been out riding with Edward Ball and he brought her home about 2 a. m., and when she started to get out of the car her husband appeared at the back of the car with a flashlight in one hand and something else in the other hand.
