reservoir has been completed and
filled for sterilizing and that it will
be connected soon with the main
line sustem. About 11,500 feet
or new pipe have been laid to an
additional water supply at Fork
Creek, and only 1,200 more is need
ed to complete the job. The new
system should be in operation
in about 30 days .... Sunday’s

movement to oust him from office.
A group of Polk County citizens
have signed a petition asking for
his removal and Solicitor C. 0.
Ridings has signed an order call
ing for a hearing before Judge

JESSE L. RHODES BOUND
OVER TO GRAND JURY
A preliminary hearing was held
Friday afternoon before Magistrate
T. A. Gilliam at the Court House
in Columbus for Jesse L. Rhodes
charged with assault with a deadly
weapon on his wife, Mrs. Stella
Streadwick Rhodes. After hearing
the evidence presented the magis
trate bound the defendant over to
the grand jury for action in
August.
At the hearing Mrs. Rhodes stat
ed that she had been out riding
with Edward Ball and he brought
her home about 2 a. m., and when
she started to get out of the car
her husband appeared at the back
of the car with a flashlight in one
hand and something else in the
other hand. Ball pushed her down
on the seat and started the car.
About the same time several shots
