Tryon’s temperature readings are taken by Observer Creasman who lives near Sunnydale. Some people win claim that it was colder at their places. It was just as cold Monday in Tryon with a 53 as it was in Duluth, Minn, and cooler than Dever’s 61, Boston 60, Buf falo 50. Asheville had the same reading as Tryon’s 53 low, and that broke Asheville’s low record for July of that day. You just can’t beat this Tryon weather for 365 days as a whole. Some places are cooler in summer and some are warmer in winter, but for year round living, it’s delightful, full of variety and charm stimulating one’s love of adventure in pursuing hobbies or sports, so one reasons why not work here if one has to work and enjoy these other delight ful advantages ... J. Dorsey told visitors at tending the Piedmont Peach Pa rade dinner on Tuesday night. Mr. Dorsey, secretary and treas urer of the National Peach Coun cil, base on his figures on a 28-state survey conducted this week. Spar tanburg ,County will ship about 45,000 carloads of fresh peaches this year. South Carolina ranks first among the states in peach shipments, Dr. Dorsey said.—The Spartanburg Herald. Kiwanians See All-Stars The Kiwanis Club moved to the television set in Oak Hau Hotel’s lobby and watched the Na tional League defeat the American League 5 to 1 Tuesday at their regular meeting. Dr. C. W. McCall postponed his talk to next Tuesday, in order for the club to attend the All-Star game played at Crosley Field, Cincinnati, Ohio.
