Mrs. Byron Rector’s-Brother
Missing In Private Plane
Dr. H. G. Settle of Fort Mill,
S. C., a brother of Mrs. Byron
Rector of Tryon, has been miss
j ing- in his' private airplane since
i Tuesday moraine- when he left, the
| Charlotte airport to attend a medi
i cal association meeting in Charles
I ton. He never arrived in Charles
ton and no one reports having
seen the plane since it flew over
Camden, S. C., about 10:30 a. m.
A number of Tryon friends have
enjoyed their vacation at Dr.
Settle’s summer home "in Blowing
Rock, and it was there two weeks
ago that he fell and sustained a
brain concussion, and about two
years ago he “blacked out” while
dr;ving his automobile.
I Friends and relatives fear that
something has happened to Dr.
. Settle instead of the plane which
was checked before it left the
| airport.
| Over 35 airplanes of the Civil
j Air Patrol have been searching
j over 10,000 square miles in the
I area between Camden and Char
j leston, and officials state that the
j hunt has been very discouraging
I because there have been no clues.
