General King At Kiwanis
Howard B. Greene will be in
charge of the, Tryon Kiwanis
Club program Tuesday at 1 p. m.
at Oak Hall and will have as
guest speaker, General E. P. King
of Saluda and Sea Island, Ga.
General King was next in com
mand to General Wainwright in
the Philippines during World War
II and has made a study of Orien
tal life. His subject for Tuesday’s
meeting has not been announced.
Recently General King addressed
the Rotary Club in Tryon, the Ki
wanis Club in Spartanburg and
other civic organizations in this
area.
Women Golfers Meet Tues.
The Women’s Golf Association
will meet Tuesday at 1 p. m. at
the Country Club.' Those planning
to attend should sign up at the
Pro Shop this weekend.
TRYON vs WALNUT
Tonight at 8 o’clock the Tryon
High Tigers entertain Walnut
High at Harmon Field. Both teams
will be trying to gain their first
win of the season. Last week Wal
nut dropped a 39-6 decision to
Oakley-Fairview while Tryon fell
before,. a strong District .One
eleven.
