Continued on Back Poqe, _ Leo Milhaupt, New President Tryon Chamber of Commerce At the first meeting of the new board of directors of the Tryon Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, Leo Milhaupt, manager of the Pierce-Wilson Motor Co. was elected president to succeed G. D. Cooksey. Mr. Milhaupt has served on the board for several years and has been chairman of various com mittees. He is a former Rotarian and has served as county chairman of programs for the automotive industry. W. L. Hague, executive secre tary of the Tryon Federal Savings & Loan Assn., was elected vice president.' Mr. Hague is chairman of the Tryon School Board, secre tary of the Kiwanis club and lea der in various civic affairs includ ing the drive for funds for bleach ers at Harmon Field. J. Lee Lavender of the law firm of McCown, Lavender and Mc Farland, was elected secretary treasurer. He has been a director for several year and chairman of committees and has taken an active part in general civic-affairs. Mrs. Sibyl Brendall was re elected assistant secretary. The officers and the following members make up the board of directors: G. D. Cooksey, D*r. George "S. Vosburgh Jr., George Webster, Ralph Farthing, Holland Brady Jr., and R. B. Scruggs. The annual dinner meeting will be held Monday night, Oct. 26th at Oak Hall. G. D. Cooksey was named chairman of the committee. Regular meetings of the board will be held the second Tuesday night at 8 o’clock at Oak Hall.
