World Community Day
Set For November 6
The Tryon Council of Church
Women has started plans for the
interdenominational observance of
World Community Day, Nov. 6 at
3:30 p. m. in the Episcopal Parish
House.
The service will be a climax of
a clothing collection to help relieve
human suffering in the world to
day. Millions of fellow human
beings cry to the churches of
America for help. Articles needed
are clothing for all ages, shoes
(tied together—not high heels),
quilts, blankets, sheets, pillow
cases, towels, wash cloths, yard
goods and knitting wool. Also
needed are sewing, school and
medical kits. The chairman says,
“Please start your box today.”
Boxes will be placed in the
churches for contributions or
wrapped gifts may be left at
Cowan’s Super Market.
