Try on Versus Christ School
Tomorrow night the Tryon
Tigers entertain the Christ School
Greenies at Harmon Field at 7:30
in the final home game of the sea
son. Although the Tigers have
only won 2 out of 7 games, they
have done well against schools of
cdmparable size and hope to give
Christ School a good game.
Coach Prince has resuffied his
line-up tnis week to nnd a com
bination to click against Christ
School. Probable starters will be:
Ends, Lynwood Thompson and Dan
Edwards; tackles, Bob Turner and
Ronnie Ross; guards, Fred Ash
ley and Robert Bowyer; center,
Allan Pruette; backs, Jim Ballew,
Kite Biedler, Raleigh Parker and
Ed Howard.
Added help on defense will come
from Julian Thompson, Frank Mc
Graw and Furman Walker.
The last time Tryon defeated
Christ School was in 1&47. Since
then the Greenies have won every
year except for last year when
the game ended in a 13-13 tie.—

The entire Girls Friendly So
ciety membership of 44 girls is
participating in World Commu
nity Day to be observed on Fri
day, Nov. 6 at the Parish House.
The program consists of devo
tion by the Tryon Council of
Church Women and a pageant,
“We Will Build Peace”, by the
Girls Friendly Society.
The Tryon Volunteer Fire De
partment was called out Thurs
day afternoon to extinguish a fire
at the Girl Scout Cabin on the
Tryon school grounds.
