L. C. Portfer Talks To Tryon Sixth Grade On Thursday Mr. L. C. Porter came to talk to Mrs. Carter’s sixth grade about England which we have been studing. One of the things he told us about was the wall "that Julius Caesar built around London with parts of the wall still there to day. He tpld us also that the largest city of England.was Lon don and that there is a difference between • west and east London. There is no grass or trees and as many as 107 flags come in to the harbor of London. Another thing he mentioned was that a road which the Romans marched on is still there and the streets of England, are not straight. One other thing he told was that Eng land is on an island and has a democracy like our own United1 States of America.—Carla Shu ford.
