The Outlook Club, the local literary
group, the Volunteer Firemen and
others in the community cooperated
to put on this beautiful scene for
Christmas. Everybody is invited

Hatch Mill Party Tonight ...
The annual Christmas party for
about '300 employees of the Hatch
Mill, Columbus, will be held to
night at Sunnydale. Only about
200 will be aible to be present.
A turkey dinner will be served
and the Christmas program will
be followed by dancing.
Georgb L. Thompson will be
master of ceremonies. The pro
gram includes some welcome
remarks by Supt. Jack Craig;
singing of Christmas Carols; piano
solo iby Ernest Caston; vocal solo
by Fred Powell; other features'
by E. E. Caston, J. V. Roberts,
DeWitt Smith, George Pritchard,
Herbert Jackson, William Bivens.
Various skits will be put on
and music will be given toy Russ
Fike Band of Spartanburg.

In reviewing the (progress and'
development of the .Stony Knoll
Library Project, I find that there is
one thing which we have attempt
ed to do more than once, but have
not Ibeen successful in realizing it.
That one thing is to raise funds
to have a well dug on the library
grounds.
Early in the growth of the *
library a club grew a “patch” of
cotton tb have a well dug. We
netted $13,'in this project. No one
would begin the work for that
