Dempsey, 67, husband of Ruth Reneau Demp sey of Landrum, $. C. died Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. at his home. A native of North Pacolet Community, he was a son of the late Edward A. and Ila Moore Dempsey. He was a retired employee of Burwell Chevrolet and Carolina Yarn Processor of Tryon, and was a member of Landrum First Baptist Church. Also surviving: sisters, Mrs. Mae Alverson Bridges of Roe buck, S. C., Mrs. Irene Ferrell of Fontana, Calif., Mrs. Adella Ballew of Tryon; brothers, Thurman Dempsey of Landrum, Nathan Dempsey of Asheville and Gerald Dempsey of Ander son. Services will be held today (Friday) at 2 p.m. at Petty Funeral Home with the Rev. C. W. Farrar officiating. Burial will be in the Landrum Cemetery.
