Hear About “Stress”
The Tryon Kiwanis Club will
meet Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the
Pacolet River Plantation. Mrs.
Charles P. Blomeley will talk on
“stress.” Mrs. Blomley is a RN
at St. Luke’s Hospital. Joe

They All Say
It’s “Great”
We talked to several Jazz Buffs
in Tryon about the Carolina Jazz
Society group that will be
performing at the Tryon Fine
Arts Center on Jan. 12 at 2:15 and
8:15 p.m.
To quote Mrs. George Simpson,
“They are absolutely marvelous.
We have made special trips to
Columbia to hear them and we
plan to take in both afternoon and
evening performances here."
Anson Merrick says, "They are
just great, a terrific beat, have
heard them several times in
Columbia and we are looking
forward to their concert here.”
Jazz aficionado Joe Kerby told
us, “they are as good as any
Dixieland Players I've ever
heard and I’ve heard a lot of
them. We are looking forward to
the concert.”
If you want to hear real
Dixieland Jazz the best place to
hear it will be at the Fine Arts
Center in Tryon on Jan. 12 when
this great band, now in its 28th
year, will give another of its
terrific performances. — Report
