Tryon Wins Two From Cherokee The Tryon Tigers won a doubleheader from the Cherokee Braves Tuesday night at Tryon. The girls won 56-36 and the boys took a 63-53 win. Becky Nesbitt had the hot hand for the Tigers as she racked up 22 ponts. The Tryon girls broke open what was supposed to have been a close game. Pam Ensley was high for Cherokee with 12 points. The boys games was much closer than the final score indicates. For three quarters the Cherokee boys out scrapped the Tigers and managed to stay in the game and on several occasions went into the lead. The game was 20-20 at half and 39-39 at the end of the third quarter. In the final quarter the Tigers came to life and sprang into a 12 points lead as they hit the open man and their free throws. Barry Skipper had the hot hand as he cashed in a number of layups and had the soft touch as he racked up 21 points. Bruce Butler had 13 points and Tony Cunningham 11 for others in double figures. Noonie Davis was high for Cherokee with 18 points. Tryon girls are now 8-3 and the bovs are 10-1. GIRLS GAME CHEROKEE (36) — Ensley 12, Sampson 5. L. The review, one of a series presented by Lanier Library for its members, so delighted and impressed Mrs. Boas that she wrote to Mrs. Hailey about it. Universal Studio will produce “A Woman of Indpendent Means” as a movie, and CBS plans to present it as a Television play.
