Mrs. Hedges
Mrs. Hilda Rueter Hedges, 80
of Clark Road, Lake Lanier, S. C.
died unexpectedly Tuesday at her
home.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she
was a daughter of the late Fred
and Mary Rueter. She had been a
resident of Lake Lanier since 1965
and was a member of the Tryon
Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband,
John J. Hedges; a son, John J.
Hedges, Jr. of Novelty, Ohio;
three brothers, Edgar, Harold
and Richard Rueter of Lake
wood, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs.
Helen Burns of Lakewood and
Mrs. Elaine Major of Beechwood
Ohio; one grandson.
Services will be held Saturday
afternoon at Gattozzi & Son
Funeral Home in Chesterland,
Ohio with burial in Crown Hill
Cemetery.
McFarland Funeral Chapel
was in charge of local arrange
ments.

3 Vehicle Wreck
An unusual accident occured
Wednesday morning about 8:15
on Hwy. 108 near the Pea Ridge
Road. According to Sheriff Boyc«
Carswell the Meeting Place Day
Care Center van stopped over a
crest of the hill headed toward
Rutherfordton. The Meeting
Place van, coming toward
Columbus, stopped to allow a
child to cross the road. A
Biltmore milk truck from
Spindale was behind the Meeting
Place van and couldn’t stop. The
driver went between the two
vans, brushing both of them. Mrs.
Frances Smith, director of the
Meeting Place stated that only
minor damage was done to the
two vans.
Patrolman C. T. Kennedy
investigated the accident.
