Honored
Reagan Ammons
The National Association of
Extension 4-H Agents at their
annual convention in Colorado
Springs, Colorado honored-
Reagan Ammons, Polk County
Extension Chairman with a
Distinguished Service Award.
Ammons was cited for organiz
ing the 4-H club for the deaf while
working in Burke County and
providing opportunities for youth
to participate in auto, fire and
hunter safety programs.
He was serving as president of
the North Carolina 4-H Agents
Association when he was named
the Polk County extension
chairman in 1977. He is a native
of Macon County and a graduate
of North Carolina State Univer
sity.
St. Luke’s Invites
New Outreachers
Citizens interested in being
part of the Operation Outreach
program of St. Luke’s Hospital
are invited to a dinner, progress
report and report of future plans,
and a tour of the hospital,
Monday, February 4th at 6:30
p.m.

ward J. Spika, at St. Luke’s, with
your names — and number in
your party if you are several. Or
call Chairman Dr. William R.
Bosien at his home.
St. Luke’s will not mail
followup letters, so once you
phone, you are an expected guest
unless you find it necessary to
cancel.
(If Outreach members out
number St. Luke’s cafeteria
seating facilities, a second dinner
will be arranged).
Operation Outreach is bringing
information about St. Luke’s
health care and medical services
out into all areas served by the
hospital.
Doctors and staff travel to
meetings of organizations with
these programs, and many
groups arrange to have their
meeting in the hospital for a first
hand exploration.
