C. 457-2298 Tryon PTA Meets Tonight The Tryon PTA will meet tonight at 8:00 in the Tryon Elementary School Auditorium. After a short business meeting the International Exchange Pro gram or American Field Service will present a program. There are six foreign students living in Polk County. Three students attend Polk Central High School and three attend Tryon High School. The six students will be presenting a program about themselves and the culture of their home countries. The countries represented are France, Japan, England, Nor way, Italy, and Switzerland. Next the Children’s Theater Festival will take the floor and give a slide presentation concern ing the March 15 Super Saturday festivities. Following that Dr. Roy Morgan will address the audience. In conjunction with a twenty-minute film entitled, “Who Me”, the doctor will explain the dangers of cancer as a result of smoking. A question and answer period will follow his remarks. Dr. Morgan was born and grew up in North Carolina and is a graduate of the School of Medicine, Loma Linda Univer sity, Loma Linda, California. He has been in the general practice of medicine in Columbus since 1955. He is a former Chief of Staff of St. Luke’s Hospital and Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice. Light refreshments will be served following the meeting. New Members Are Welcomed The Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association open ed the 1980 season with a luncheon at the Lake Lanier Teahouse. Helen McClintock, Pres., welcomed the new members. They are: Jane Baird, Elline Crossman, Orvetta Molt- zau, Penny Morse, Alice Parsons, Hazel Teunion and Sally Wagner. Co-Chairmen for the event were: Mary Lou Coward and Marjorie Weiss. On Tuesday, March 4, at 9 a.m. a special meeting will be held in the club house for new golfers or anyone interested in learning more about Ladies’ Day proce dures. This will be followed by a golf clinic by Cecil Turner, Club Pro. Mr. and Mrs. Louis J. Stirling of Lake Adger have returned from 3 weeks riding at Circle Z Ranch at Patagonia, Arizona.
