This Tryon based company, which has been in business for 19 years, has expanded to Henderson, Buncombe and Rutherford Counties during the past 10 months. Mrs. Milsteen will have responsibility over all Polk County and Landrum business sponsors for Newcomers and in addition will supervise newcomer visitations. According to Betsy “our service visited 222 new- comers in this area in 1979, an average of 19 per month.” May was the most active moving month with 31 new arrivals recorded. So far this year, Polk County and Landrum have only had 19 new families compared to 48 the first two months a year ago. Newcomer-Southern Hospital ity has 41 business sponsors in Polk County and Landrum at the present time.
