New Manager
Betsy Milsteen
Betsy Milsteen of Landrum
was recently named district
manager for Polk County and
Landrum of Newcomers-South-
ern Hospitality. This Tryon based
company, which has been in
business for 19 years, has
expanded to Henderson,
Buncombe and Rutherford
Counties during the past 10
months.
Mrs. Milsteen will have
responsibility over all Polk
County and Landrum business
sponsors for Newcomers and in
addition will supervise newcomer
visitations. According to Betsy
“our service visited 222 new-
comers in this area in 1979, an
average of 19 per month.” May
was the most active moving
month with 31 new arrivals
recorded. So far this year, Polk
County and Landrum have only
had 19 new families compared to
48 the first two months a year
ago.
Newcomer-Southern Hospital
ity has 41 business sponsors in
Polk County and Landrum at the
present time. Although sponsor
registrations locally exceed eith
er Henderson, Buncombe or
Rutherford Counties, “we still
have openings for several
business classifications in Polk
county for which we need
exclusive sponsors” according to
Mrs. Milsteen.
