Nancy McKaig competed in the
Southeastern Regional Baton
Twirling Championship - on
Saturday, March 15 at West
Mecklenberg High School in
Charlotte, N. C. Nancy placed Sth
in St. Patricks Queen of the Day
and 3rd in North Carolina’s Most
Beautiful Majorettes events,
based on modeling, personality
and poise. She also placed 1st in
Beginner Fancy Strutting and
Intermediate Solo; 4th in Best
Appearing Military; 2nd in
Beginner Military Strutting; and
3rd in Intermediate Military
Strutting.
Nancy has entered the Little
Miss Spartanette Contest in
Spartanburg. This contest is to
pick the representative for the
Twirling Spartanettes during
Parades and other events.
Contestants obtain votes by
getting friends to vote for them at
a penny a vote. The proceeds go
toward the cost of sending the
Twirling Spartanettes to Drum
Majorette of America Nationals
in Greensboro, N. C. in August.
Nancy is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Bill McKaig.
