As a result, chapter chairman Richard E. Weiss has announced an extension of the drive for canvasser clean-up of contacts and reports. "In over 30 years of doing house-to-house canvassing of Polk County residents, veteran observers don't recall such continuing weather problems,” Weiss stated. Red Cross is well over the half-way mark of its $14,300 goal for 1980. However, some remain ing fifty canvassers have been "fighting the weather" to turn in over-due reports. If a canvasser has not yet asked you to “Help Keep Red Cross Ready", call the Red Cross office 859-9362 and arrangements will be made to collect your contribution.
