rainy morning. Tuesday was

The U. S. Supreme Court
unanimously upheld federal laws
limiting the amount of money the

spend.
The American hostages in the
U. S. Embassy in Tehran
received a seven-hour visit
Monday from two representa
tives of the International Red
Cross.
Thursday at 10 a.m. "The Art
of Bonsai” will be the program at
the Tryon Bird Club at the Tryon
United Methodist Church.
Thursday there wifi be a Roast
Beef or Chicken Dinner at St
Luke’s CME Church from 6:30 to
8 p.m.
Mrs. Clarence Rhodes is
presenting an Art Show Friday
from 11:30 to 2:30 at The

George Dusenbury
Critically Burned
George Dusenbury, 70, of Rt. 1,
Saluda was critically burned
Monday about noon. Mr.-
Dusenbury was taken by ambu
lance to St. Luke’s Hospital
where his condition was stabil
ized and then was transferred to
the Baptist Hospital Burn Center
in Winston-Salem.
Two Break-Ins
In Columbus
A thief or thieves broke into the
Columbus Gulf Station and the
Chevron Station near the inter
section of Hwy. 108 and I-26 early
Sunday morning. The break-ins
occurred between 1:30 and 7:30.
The Gulf Station was entered
by breaking a window in the
grease rack and going into the
office where $450 in cash and 170
cartons of cigarettes were taken.
On leaving the Gulf Station, they
took one can of oil and threw it
through the window in the grease
rack of the Chevron Station and
entered through the window.
They got into the office and tore a
drawer out of the desk. $800 to
$1000 in change was taken as was
100 cartons of cigarettes. A
Marlin magnum rifle was
also taken from the Chevron
Station.
The robberies are being
investigated by Columbus Police

Bloodmobile
A Tribute
To Dr. Wm. R. Bosien.
Next Monday, April 21, the Red
Cross Bloodmobile will be in
Tryon and the occasion has been
designated by the Red Cross as a
memorial to the late Dr. William
Riley Bosien.
Red Cross’ staff of professional
and volunteer workers will be at
the Parish Hall in Holy Cross
Episcopal Church from 12:30 to
5:30 p.m Monday.
"In his long service to.the
people of this area and to St.
Luke’s Hospital, Dr. Bosien
certainly knew the value of this
vital blood donation program ”
Richard E. Weiss, Red Cross
Chairman, said. “The blood
mobile program provides
doctors, like Dr. Bosien, with the
life saving supports of plasma
and whole blood. If volunteers do
not support the program with
donations of their blood, this kind
of help would not be available
when needed.”
Anyone who is more than 17
years old, weighs more than 110
Pounds and is in good health can
donate blood, the Red Cross said
