COLIFORM BACTERIA FOUND
IN DRINKING WATER
During March coliform
bacteria was found in drinking
water samples from the Melmont
Waler Co. above the limit as it
appears in the “Rules Governing
Public Water Supplies."
Coliform bacteria is normally
found in the intestinal tract of
man or other warm blooded
animals and can be easily found
in drinking water samples. The
presence of coliform bacteria
indicates that some contamina
tion has occured.
In an attempt to correct the
cause or the contamination we
have done the following:
We have disinfected the water
system.
We have flushed the water
lines.
Samples submitted on 4-14-80.
4-15-80 show the water to be free
of coliform bacteria.
