BUYING TURKEYS
By Julie Bender, NCSU
There is good news about the
price of one kind of meat —
turkey.
According to specialists with
the North Carolina Agricultural
Extension Service, the supply of
turkeys will continue to increase
during the early part of this year
and so prices should remain
stable
They remind us that whole
turkeys are a better buy for
roasting and barbecuing than
parts and further processed
turkey parts.
Larger birds are a belter buy
than small birds particularly for
large families or for small
families with freezers. The
large birds have more meat tc
the bone than do smaller ones.
