Anderson have bought the Ernst Benkert home at 411 Melrose Ave. in Tryon. Gaut-Pruette Associates was the broker. Dr Anderson, a native of Drexel Hill, Pa. graduated from Emory University in Atlanta and received his M.D. degree from Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He is completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the Green ville Hospital System in Green ville and will begin practice in Tryon. Mrs. Anderson (Gail) is originally from Elizabeth City, N C. She graduated from Asbury College. Wilmore, Ky and has attended graduate school in Charleston at the Medical University of South Carolina and at Clemson University She is completing her M. S degree in both Anatomy and Nutrition. Their interests include sports, antique hunting and camping Flower Show The Southeastern Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society will hold its annual Flower Show May 3 and 4 from 1 to 5 p m at the Asheville Mall in Asheville Exhibits will be accepted from anyone. All classes are open to commercial and non commercial exhibitors. Exhibitors may bring their blooms on Saturday morning between 8a m and 10a.m at the fountain area in the Mail. Promoted Bommer Industries of Lan drum, S. C. has announced that W. J. (Digit) Laughridge, III has been made National Sales Manager and will be responsible for all domestic and export sales and sales personnel. A native of Rocky Mount, Mr. Laughridge received his B. S degree from Wake Forest University where he was All At lantic Coast Conference in football and baseball and an AP Honorable Mention All-American in football He played one season of professional baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization He was a marketing repre sentative with the Transportation Industry until joining Bommer Industries in March 1975 as Assistant Sales Manager. Edith Lutz and a large delegation from Polk County attended the N. C. Department of Transportation meeting Wednes day in Asheville. The Polk County delegation and others present were assured by Department of Transportation Secretary Brad shaw that No. 9 would be upgraded immediately from Hwy 108 to Hwy. 74 and later from Hwy. 74 to the S.
