Tuesday was more of the same — just perfect weather. British commandos stormed the Iranian Embassy at dusk Monday, killing three of the five Iranian Arab terrorists who seized the building six days earlier and killed two of their 21 hostages. The decision to launch the assault was made after the Arabs killed two of their captives Monday and threatened to kill another every half hour if their demands were not met. The pretty weather should have brought out a good vote in Polk County yesterday. Results were not known when we went to press. We wish them every Continued On Back Page Commissioners Agree To Remove Hendra From Hospital Board The Polk County Commission ers during the 5 May. 1980, meeting made the following appointments to the Juvenile Justice Delinquency Program Task Force: for 1-year terms, Donna Anthony, Douglas Roach, Ruth Ross, Carrie Massey, and Roy Morgan; for 2-year terms, Zoro Guice, Julia Wheeler, Marvin Wagner and Pat Lehner; for 3-year terms, Myrna- Viehman, Don Viehman and Betty Brewer. St. Luke’s Hospital Board of Directors requested the Commis sioners to remove Larry Hendra from the Board due to a conflict of interest. Mrs. Thompson lives in Tryon with her husband Glenn, and daughter, Jennifer. She has attended Isothermal Community College in Tryon, and is planning to pursue a degree in Special Education at Converse College in Spartanburg. Miss Hill is a resident of Rt. 1, Tryon. She is a graduate of Bob Jones University, and is current ly attending the School of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Sec Body Found In Lake Adger The body of Bert Moore, 32, of Mill Spring, who apparently drowned Sunday was recovered from Lake Adger Monday afternoon at 2:30. Rescue Squads from Polk County. Landrum and Inman joined in the search. Food Stamp Money Expires May 15th Unless Congress appropriates more money, the Food Stamp Program will expire May 15th. In Polk County the Social Services Department spend $23,688 per month on the Food Stamp Program. If the money isn’t appropriated the Food Stamp program could be suspended, cancelled or reduced.
